Remembering Imoh~
… thank you all again- from the bottom of our hearts- for all the thoughts and prayers …
it has been- without a doubt- the worst week of our lives.
i love bassey and my sister (more than words)
and seeing them in so much pain has been so hard.
we just returned from michigan today after an emotional weekend of celebrating a great man- we cried, we laughed, we danced, we mourned, we remembered.
i was so proud of bassey and my sister- they were both so strong.
my aunts, uncles, cousins, and our close friends traveled from ohio and chicago
(around four-five hours each way)
it meant the world to our family.
the prayers, pastor (loved so much), speeches, strength, people i met, and love were all beyond life-changing.
a bond between brothers – like no other.
may we always remember imoh’s radiance and love for life
as his spirit surrounds us every day.
a groomsman, lou, and i created this video for bassey last week- he was so loved and looked so handsome in his best man suit! <3 the videos and first photo were taken last weekend in new orleans. we love you, imoh! always.
*thank you all again- we are so grateful and so blessed for all the love and support*
please keep praying… <3
lastly, our fund has raised close to $29,000 – so unbelievably remarkable. the orig. goal was $4,000. thank you to everyone- esp. my friends from home and charlotte who didn’t even know Imoh- i love you.
You can weep because he is gone or you can smile because he lived. You can close your eyes and pray that he will come back or you can open your eye and see all that he has left.
Your heart can be empty because you can’t see him or you can be full of the love that you shared. You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember him and only that he is gone or you can cherish his memory and let it live on. You can cry and close your mind, be empty, turn your back or you can do what he would want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on. – I’m opening my eyes today
