the monaco’s move. our first home {week one}
willow love – part one
after a week at the beach, mr. monaco and i returned to our lovely city of charlotte on saturday. after donating and proudly dumping ice cold water on my head for als awareness, we went to meet {for the 4th time} with the sales associate in the neighborhood where we were interested in building a new home. and we did-we signed our lives away you all- and could not be happier. we have had so much love & support from family {my parents spent hours researching the neighborhood/helping us} and from friends who live out there {esp. brad, mikey, thomas, & justin- thank you} we truly feel like this is the best place for us during this period of time in our lives. we will be about a mile north of the city, near the music factory, and in the up and coming ‘northend’. we were able to see the plans and it’s so exciting!! we will miss our current home, friends, & neighborhood- but it’s only 3 miles away!
i’ve been wanting to try a beautiful mess’ new app
{my absolute favorite blog of all time and inspiration}

the #partypartyapp
for awhile now…
what better time to celebrate than with some photo booth love?!
nelle = absolutely overjoyed
mr. monaco= omg. we are officially broke. ahh.

if you are house hunting,
i recommend keeping a spreadsheet of pros and cons
(thanks, dad, for the suggestion)
to keep track of what is most important to you both
we wanted to be close to the city/neighborhoods we love, but wanted the square footage
which we weren’t going to get in our favorite neighborhoods of elizabeth, chantilly, and plaza midwood (we want diversity/eclectic living in our lives)
but weren’t willing to settle for 900-1100 square feet/2 beds and 1 bath.
so we talked for hours and created our list:
… which included 29 pros and 7 cons …
– so here she is –
we are so excited!
we have named her ‘willow’
and
we hope to move/close at some point in december 2014
look for updates every monday… i would love to share this journey with you all!
we weren’t able to pick the actual structure/layout
(there are four options for each of the five actual home designs)
but we loved this one – so it worked out well!
our home will look like the one above, but will be a light gray color instead of blue
and we are able to pick about 99% of the inside {within our budget!}
we celebrated at our favorite spot with spicy feta dip, sushi, and champs – yay.
also, today is my last day of summer- it’s been so, so wonderful- one of my favorites.
spending it at smelly cat in noda with a friend and planning my sister’s october wedding!
have a wonderful day and thank you all again for all the willow love

I saw your current home and it looks adorable. It's just sad that you guys are leaving such a gem of a house. On a brighter note, I think your new home will look much more gorgeous after it's finished, basing from the preview. Kudos to you guys! Thanks for sharing!

Is that your projected design for the new house? It’s lovely! How’s the construction going? I hope everything is going well, and that you’ll be able to complete it ahead of your schedule. Here’s to new beginnings!
