monday love

on saturday april 13, 2013, i went on a carolina wine tour with 21 other girls… the weather was 72 degrees/sunny, the wineries were beautiful, and the wine was delicious. thank you so much lauren (tolbs) for planning this day- loved. one of my favorite parts was hanging out with my dear friend, kate dull- she means so much to me/it was so nice being with her all day- along with meeting some new people as well- i always adore meeting awesome new people.   i am pretty sure i got this from my momma. she’s definitely known for her friendliness at home 🙂 3 more sleeps, mom.
here are the highlights through photos from saturday:

took a long walk sunday morning …

my deepest prayers and thoughts are in boston, ma today…
i knew at least five people there today and am so glad that they are all alright.

*praying for the victims, families, friends, rescuers, and all who were affected – esp. these two charlotteans: http://www.charlotteobserver.com/2013/04/15/3983940/they-were-just-running-away-from.html

some inspiring moments from a tragic day:

google doc boston marathon

  • a google doc had a listing for hundreds of entries of people who were opening up their homes to victims –>
  • area restaurants were feeding runners and victims- even if they couldn’t pay.
  • people running to help and going to donate blood – so many that many were turned away.
  • former new england patriot, joe andruzzi, was spotted helping an injured woman.
  • some runners reportadly continued past the finish line and ran to local hospitals.
  • moving pictures of couples being reunited – you know i love this.
  • … thoughts and prayers to all.
– some of my previous students know that i have done a few half marathons and reached out to me today to see if i was there/my family was alright- not even close, but very sweet.
