simply gather | a baby shower
we celebrated the sweetest (she is a gem) momma yesterday and her littlest baby- baby #4 due at the beginning of december. the shower took place at their lovely country farmhouse- and was a dream. i prayed for this loving group of mom friends a few years ago and they have been one of my greatest earthly blessings – so supportive and always there. most of us have similar interests and tend to look for beauty in the simple moments and things. it meant so much to help set-up and create a space to be together and honor her. everything feels so new and so old right now- our days blur in a light that becomes more beautiful once i close my eyes and think about it. i am sitting here with a cup of maple coffee, looking out over our backyard + all i can see our large golden-tipped trees + our oldest son starts elementary school today (in a pre-k/k montessori classroom). and i am so proud of him. these people and this one life- this is all i ever wanted.
that fiddle is many decades old and was left by the previous owners – they moved to alaska and obviously couldn’t take it with them
she is the most lovely-inside and out
she is light.
i love to put down butcher block paper and spread all the goodness
our friend, cris, owns the batch house (a very popular local bakery!) and made this pumpkin cake
they moved in last spring and every corner is so charming
hoping she had the best day being celebrated – she is an enneagram two/a helper and is always helping + there for others
my gorgeous friends
my gift: neutral knits for next winter, a thrifted peach colored mug (we both love thrifting), a small pumpkin, rattles and this book (this book was sent to us from the dolly parton library and i fell so in love with it! it’s so good.)
grateful for this beautiful day with my friends; my friends with the dearest hearts
these events used to feel ‘normal,’ but now they feel very sacred.
