oh baby | thirty-one weeks

how far along? | 31 weeks

due date: january 14, 2016

baby’s size | baby is the size of a pineapple– 2.5-3.8 pounds and 15.2-16.7 inches long

gender | a baby boy!

hopefully he’s half as cute as his dad

feeling | i feel really good; however, my sciatic nerve in my back started to act up sunday evening and has progressively gotten worse {as in i was bed ridden tuesday night/yesterday} last month the pain was in my right lower back/all the way down my legs and now it’s on my left side. luckily, we had school off for veteran’s day yesterday and i was able to be still- any type of movement is extremely painful. please say a little prayer that relief comes soon {it took eleven days last time} and it feels worse this time around. good thing he’s worth it.

home of the free- because of the brave
a special ‘thank you’ to all who have served our beautiful country

maternity clothes | i am all about some leggings and pajamas- they are my favorite. i am up sixteen pounds now- he’s getting bigger by the week for sure. however, my wedding rings still fit, still no swelling, no stretch marks {yet. but i have been putting coconut oil on my belly every evening} and the belly button is in– so minus the intense back/nerve pain, i can’t complain!

movement |  so much. he’s getting so much stronger and has been very active while i have been more still this week.

sleep |  great! all but one evening {hopefully that doesn’t continue!}

a throwback to last may- three days before finding out about baby boy… when we went back to college at ud with uncle alex {stayed out until 4am! dancing} he’s going to be a great uncle

cravings |  pizzzaaaaa {this baby loves pizza.} and donuts. i have also been trying to get in as many veggies, salads, and fruits as possible … to make up for the carbs? a little? smoothies are also becoming a routine again.

miss anything |  a good, spicy bloody mary sounded really good a few times this week! we make them a lot at my parent’s house in the fall for football game days and holidays

fun facts | baby’s going through major brain and nerve development | eye development, too. his irises now react to light | all five of baby’s senses are now working!

i love the app waterlogue – have you ever tried it? if not, i recommend! you can turn any photo into a watercolor, capturing the essence of your photos in an artistic way. i love it.

best moment of the week | lots of down time and a free weekend

how’s dad? |  he’s been a life-saver this week! both our family butler and maid – along with helping me move/get up/out of bed. it’s been rough and i am so thankful for him.

looking forward to | traveling to virginia this weekend with my friend, kate, to celebrate our good friend’s upcoming baby in december. excited for some girl time and a road trip. {time to pack the hot tamales!} and my sister and i talked for almost an hour monday about thanksgiving and what we want to do together- i miss her- so much. can’t wait to see family and friends in a few weeks. pillow talks, boutiques, fun food ideas, movies, a turkey trot, and spreading christmas cheer are on the agenda.

next appointment: november 23

I hope you feel better soon! I had some sciatic nerve pain when I was pregnant with Max, but it was never as bad as you described! I had some pain again this week, but again, very mild compared to you! And some encouraging news: my belly button never popped when I was pregnant with Max, and I was so glad! Maybe you'll be lucky with the button, too! :o)

I hope your back is feeling better! Sometimes I get frustrated because I'm like, "Why do I feel so uncomfortable? Why can't I just get up and get stuff done?" And then I remember there is a human being the SIZE OF A PINEAPPLE inside of me, and that really puts things in perspective.

That waterlogue app looks so cool! I have got to give it a try.

I didn't have major cravings when I was pregnant.

    What a lovely update!

    Wishing you a lovely weekend.
