feeling| i would be lying if i said 24 weeks was good to me 🙁 it was one of the worst of my pregnancy. i was very sick last thursday and friday- my stomach was burning, quivering, i was achy, clammy, my ears ached, my back ached, a fever blister was brewing- i think my body was shutting down from going too hard. it’s so scary to be so sick when you are expecting- i was so worried about the baby. however, saturday morning things started to turn around… and then sunday evening, intense lower back pain started. i went to the chiropractor yesterday and am feeling slightly better. ♥ it’s going to take a few treatments for this injury. praying things continue to go up… thank you to those of you that sent prayers. hoping week 25 treats me better!
maternity clothes | still a little of both. i am still up six pounds and am loving leggings, booties, tights, and dresses. i fell in love with the online shop, ASOS last week – have you ever ordered? it’s super cute and just my style
sleep | some nights are amazing and others are not… i never know what i am going to get right now.
cravings | purple grapes, pizza, and sour patch kids {nothing that i HAVE to have… but just some random desires}
i went last night to pick out the nursery color at blackhawk ace hardware at the park road shopping {this store is fantastic!} my husband and father-in-law plan to paint saturday {so nice of them!} while i attend a baby shower for a friend from cincinnati, who will be in charlotte to celebrate her baby boy {she is due just ten days after me!}
fun
facts | he’s enjoying his new sense of equilibrium — he now knows which way is up and which is down. he’s growing more fat and more hair, too!
movement | off and on ♥ it’s my favorite part about pregnancy- i love feeling him move!
miss anything | it was mimosas/champagne and wine at the baby shower that i missed most this week- and my hometown oktoberfest this upcoming weekend {it’s always a hard weekend- sadly, i am usually pretty homesick} it was one of my very favorite events of the year growing up.
-the bugaboo stroller–
best moment of the week | although i didn’t feel well and had intense back pain, there were so many great things that happened! of course, showering baby boy with loved ones was the biggest highlight. i posted a few photos on instagram but will be sharing the ‘woodland- bohemian’ baby shower with you all soon – it was so wonderful being surrounded by people who love us so much. in addition, i was talking to my sister last friday about strollers. she is a store manager at an outdoor lululemon store in cinci and gets a lot of moms shopping. she has been chatting about stroller options with them for me. {i didn’t even ask her to do this! she also went to anthropologie last friday searching for a baby shower dress for me- so sweet.} most moms raved about bugaboos most- my dream stroller- ever since i studied abroad in europe in 2006 and saw these adorable buggies all over almost every country i visited. i was in love; however, i didn’t want to pay $1100-$1300 for one. my sister suggested checking on craigslist and there it was- a practically brand new one for $225 in the color, sand. i really wanted a black one, but for around $1000 less, i didn’t care about the color. plus, the owner told me that her black one used to get really hot. now, i think i like the sand/tan color a little more- yay! after we drove back from ohio monday evening, i headed over to the couple’s house {they were so sweet to hold it for us all weekend- even though they had a lot of interest!} and i instantly fell in love with the couple and their little two year old son, parker. we talked for awhile and i just adored them. so friendly and new to charlotte from chicago… we have plans to hopefully meet up again soon! they were so generous… i also left with a stroller caddy, car seat cover, two hats, and a book {for free.} how nice is that?! i am over the moon excited- and would recommend looking for your dream stroller at either a consignment shop/online. in addition, my mom, dad, sister, her husband, my brother, and his girlfriend bought us the bob jogging stroller last weekend for our ohio shower – so i think we are set. ♥
here is a photo of our new one from craigslist! again, so in love.
it came with all of the accessories as well- including the cute little umbrella
looking
forward to | october!! it’s my second favorite month of the year… right behind december {the glitter, ‘idea of ‘ snow, time with family, and joy of the holidays slightly trumps beautiful october!}
how’s
dad? still the best. he does SO much for both of us- every day. and we appreciate it all very much.
I hope this weekend gives you the relaxation you need to have a splendid 25 weeks! It's so wild what our bodies go through to grow and nourish a sweet babe. And I'm on a purple grapes kick too (eating them now as I type) and I had the biggest craving for watermelon sour patch candy back in July. I can't wait to see your baby shower details!! xo

Congrats on the great Craigslist find! What a deal! I love when those kind of things happen. 🙂 We got a king size bed (brand new! They bought it, and then the husband decided it was too soft) for just $50 because they wanted to get rid of it, and called us after the garage sale to tell us they would take whatever we could give (we were/are broke college students). That bed is WAY nicer than anything my hubs and I could've afforded. My friend stayed with me the other day, and called it the "cloud bed" because it is so comfortable. God is so good to us. 🙂 Also, I LOVE that "short, dark and handsome" shirt for the little guy!! SO cute!

It is so much fun to read these and see how similar we are! I'm loving that stroller with the cute little umbrella…so adorable! And I'm so happy to be getting bigger in the fall, not the summer…pretty sure I'm just going to be living in leggings and boots until this little guy comes!
