choosing happiness

“It’s about living in the moment and appreciating the smallest things. Surrounding yourself with the things that inspire you and letting go of the obsessions that want to take over your mind. It is a daily struggle sometimes and hard work but happiness begins with your own attitude and how you look at the world.” ― Gretchen Rubin

this week i began to ponder
our ability to choose happiness
i am curious
do you choose happiness every single day?
do you believe that it’s a choice?
i am beginning to look into a ‘happiness project’ and would love to hear from you!
…what makes you most happy…
is it other bring around people?
your faith?
solitude?
experiencing pain at some point in your life?
setting aside imperfections?
have you ever considered some daily routines to help promote a healthier and happier lifestyle?
i recommend meditating for at least five minutes, writing down five things you are grateful for every day and doing one act of kindness!
…doing so has been life-changing for me…
what about you?
do you do this or anything similar?
lastly, who are the happiest people you know?
what makes them so joyous to be around?
again, i would love to hear from you as i begin to explore this concept!

thank you so much for your help
and stay tuned for more!

I think the happiest people I know are my Pastor & His Wife. No matter what circumstance is thrown at them, they always have a smile find the bright side of it all. I think it comes from them fully knowing & understanding the love of God. Many times I wish I fully knew & understood that love like they do. My new daily routine has been doing a devotional everyday and really striving to understand what it's telling me. I also think I want to try what you suggest as well!

I bought The Happiness Project over a year ago and pick it up every now and then for some inspiration 🙂 Thanks for sharing! I think the happiest people I know are the most laid back and calm. They take a simplified approach to life, and I envy them for it. I think when you don't sweat the small stuff, the bigger picture becomes more clear. I also find happiness in routines as well! If I can't get to do yoga or eat ice cream a few times a week, life isn't as happy!

Though it's easier said than done, we must choose happiness everyday, and make an effort for the positive!

Totally agree that happiness is a choice! Some people that are the worst situations still manage to be happy and I think it's a decision to focus on the good things and what we can be thankful for rather than the things going wrong!

These are great questions to consider. I think often times we go about our daily routines and our relationships without thinking about why we have these routines or relationships or how they are affecting our mood and outlook on life.
