telling mr. monaco

thanks so much again for all of the warm wishes and congratulations on the babe! i think that reading all of your comments about me being pregnant makes me even more joyful about it all.

     
 today’s post will be about how i found out and how i told mr. monaco! so, we had been trying for a few months and after a fun weekend in cincinnati with my family/friends, i just had this feeling that something was a little different with my body. i hadn’t missed my period, but it was one day before and i just wanted to take a test… not completely expecting a positive. so after work, i came home, did the deed, and when i saw ‘pregnant’ completely freaked out… danced around the house and smiled- a lot. mr. monaco was in philadelphia visiting his brother’s family and i didn’t want to tell him over the phone… so i took a walk, visited a friend, and went to the healthy home market. sitting at home just wasn’t an option! being able to tell him that day was difficult, but the fact that it was the week before mother’s day was oh so special at the same time! the next evening, i babysat our favorite little boy and then came home later in the evening and gave him this gift: 

the gift included a box with the two sticks i took {the doctor asked how many i took and when i said ‘two’ … he said, ‘wow, you did good… the average is eight!} he opened the box first and sat there with tears in his eyes… and a big smile. he was so excited {and shocked}. he thought i got him something from my trip back home and completely never saw it coming. 
i also gave him a card and a onesie! 
it was a very special moment. 
the baby was measuring as a sesame seed at the time!

now baby is the size of a plum.

 he loves me and this baby so much … and makes me really excited about being a parent with him!

    Soooo cute! I love it! I kind of want to buy one of those t-shirts that says 'preggers' on it and be wearing it when he comes home or something. A little less sweet and sentimental than yours hahaha.

    Awwh! How fun. That positive sign is so crazy exciting when you're trying to get pregnant! I remember being in utter bliss and disbelief that their was a tiny person growing inside of me. It was like this wonderful secret for a few minutes until I told my husband :)—then it was our wonderful secret, but not for long. Congratulations to you both!!

    That is such a darling way to tell the Mr!! Both times he was with me when I found out – I took the test and brought it into the bedroom to wait with him the 3 minutes…so we found out at the same time. I wish I'd thought up some great reveal!! 🙂
