hap-bee fall weekend in charleston, south carolina
last friday after work we traveled to beautiful and historic charleston, sc for a weekend of exploring the city with our friends’ five week old baby boy, william, while they attended a wedding. we stayed right off kings street at our first boutique hotel, restoration on king – it was a wonderful experience. our room included a living room, kitchen, eating area, two bedrooms, and three bathrooms. it was lovely. and the weather was ideal- we spent almost all day saturday exploring the city- kings street shopping, art galleries on queen, battery park, the market, coffee shops – i always fall head over heels in love with this special place.
hotel snapshots- very nice and so hospitable.
lots of little touches throughout the day:
leaving chocolate covered almonds, setting out robes, turning on the sound machines- & more.
standing in the spot where mr. monaco proposed and i said yes.
every night at 5pm, restoration on king holds a happy hour with wine, cheese, olives, and beer
followed by cookies and milk at 8pm
‘as sweet as tupelo honey’
so thankful for all of our brave veterans- esp. today
love our beautiful country
land of the free- home of the brave.
such a good boy – he loves to snuggle
every morning our complimentary breakfast was delivered in a basket
you could pick anything you wanted/placed the order on your door the night before
i stop in this coffee shop, city lights coffee, almost every time i visit-
the owner is super friendly, coffee is perfect, and i love all of the fun colors
carolina bbq lunch
such an enjoyable trip with a precious baby boy
thank you for inviting us to watch your little love
we loved every second of it.
*some boutique snapshots from the weekend coming soon*
have you ever traveled to charleston?
if you have, what do you love most about this extraordinary southern city…
and if not, do you ever plan to travel here?
{you really should}

That bbq lunch looks pretty fantastic! You take such awesome photos. I can't wait to travel a bit more in the states. I've only been to a few places, but there is so much charm in cities like Charleston

Every time you post about Charleston, I want to go right away! We took a cruise out of Charleston a few years ago and had a few hours to explore, but it was definitely not enough time and I vowed that I'd be back for a longer visit. Hopefully we can get down there soon to experience it more in-depth! And it seems that the hotel y'all stayed in this time is perfect for a family with a baby!
