a week by the shore
i recently saw this post in my draft box and wanted to post – for always. after two years of going to avalon, new jersey for a week at the shore (adore that area!), we returned to litchfield beach in south carolina this past july. it was over the fourth of july, which was so festive and fun. i always want to remember dancing to tunes on the top balcony while the fireworks went off for hours all around us, the bloody mary i sipped while we participated in the golf cart parade, the blooming trees outside our bedroom window, dinner at our traditional spot, walks on the beach, coffee in the morning, the sound of the waves, reading books, and time as a family.
it’s currently a foggy and cozy morning at a french cafe in charlotte (my favorite days) but i still hold these summer days by the shore of carolina near and dear. the ocean is vast
and breathtaking
like the first time
beyond the content of words
kind of like- heaven.
more than a miracle.
hope to see you soon, ocean + shore
