a whimsical vintage christmas- garland

the monacos holiday decor consists of lots of gold, sparkly accents, garland, mercury glass, and vintage whimsical touches here and there.
here’s how to made it:
first, start by making the end pieces. you can use natural brown and white coffee filters, doilies, scalloped punched vintage music rounds and a few trimmings that can be picked up from our local craft store.
i layered my coffee filters and doilies together to create a good base with lots of texture. then, i picked a few elements that i really liked and combed them together with hot glue, to create a sort of mini embellishment that would be worked into the fluffy coffee filter base.
once everything was placed where i wanted it, i added a small, sparkly gold bird (of course!) to complete the look.
the next part of this project was to pick the actual trim pieces that would make up the garland portion. most of these trimmings were only a few dollars each.
combined with some metallic strung orbs and a few folded doilies i placed on a piece of string, this garland was finished in not time!
the best part about a simple craft like this, is that it’s fairly inexpensive for how great it looks, and you can customize everything from the trim to the decorative ends to fit within your own homes holiday color scheme.

don’t be afraid to have fun with this idea and get creative!
