an earthy baby shower
i have such a special post to share with you this morning. one of my closest friends growing up is expecting a darling baby boy in december. we wanted to create an intimate and whimsical event inspired by natural elements. it was such a heart-warming pleasure to host a gathering for one of my favorite people. i hope you enjoy the details from the shower… and as always, here if you have any questions.
taking in some alone time for a few hours on saturday afternoon before a girl’s night
last week was a whirlwind and the introvert in me needed this so badly- i totally embraced it.
the village grind . greenville, south carolina
that evening, we had dinner + cocktails at rocket surgery (highly recommend) and then stayed awake until after 2am chatting next to a fire with red wine. it was so wonderful + never been so thankful for daylight savings. that extra hour came at just the right time this year.

most of the food was from whole foods: a fresh salad, orange/blueberry scones, quiches and roll-ups
the cake was a sweet potato cake from brickstreet cafe
(it ranks up there with one of my favorites of all-time.)
we played piano music and had a coffee pot brewing when the guests arrived… so cozy + a day i know i will always remember.
a few of my favorite things to add to a baby shower:
01. have guests sign a favorite book (‘tiny, perfect things’ is my go-to book- esp. for autumn)
02. have guests pre-address envelopes for the momma-to-be to help with thank you cards
friends since kindergarten + carolina girls for over a decade together
you are so wonderful, my lovely friend.
this brooklyn winter baby shower is full of more earthy baby shower ideas + a dream city space
the donut tower was purchased from etsy
a fall baby shower favor idea:
‘thank you for celebrating this little pumpkin
we are so thankful for you.
please take one.’
i love to add a few personal photos + usually get a bare/plain white cake and add greenery/flowers
my friend, alissa, has the most inviting home. it’s the most incredible place to stay + gather
the pumpkins and greenery were both purchased from trader joe’s
wooden vintage toys + blocks + long candle sticks + amber glass + baskets are simple ways to add natural touches
11.3.19
so over-the-moon for my friend and her family to welcome their baby next month
and hope she enjoyed her celebration
although her smile + warm appreciation said it all
