first birthday celebration | a garden picnic for nash {part two}
yesterday i shared some scenes from the garden picnic birthday party we threw for nash last saturday, june 15 near uptown charlotte.
‘i carry your heart with me (i carry it in
my heart) i am never without it (anywhere
i go, you go, my dear; and whatever is done
by only me is your doing, my darling)
i fear
no fate (for you are my fate, my sweet) i want
no world (for beautiful you are my world, my true)
and it’s you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you
here if the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud, of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows
higher than soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that’s keeping the stars apart
i carry your heart (i carry it in my heart)
-ee cummings
here are a few more scenes
especially of the people who celebrated with us |
this photo might just be my very favorite
i brought three tables plus the quilts, four chairs, lots of baskets
a wood high chair and two benches were also used
i tried to get two large 36″ peach balloons blown up that morning but because of the helium shortage, they weren’t able to… but i actually loved the normal sized gold ones!
small dessert table / (an end table in our living room)
party favors
blooms for everyone with a note from nash
these two cousins have the sweetest bond
nora and parks were born a day apart
i also brought a lot of plants from our home and love a beautiful vintage lace table runner
baby boy and momma
i clipped a few flowers and placed them on top the main cake (super easy and beautiful!)
he is the most thoughtful, kind and dedicated dad to our boys
and he loves me so well
this photo of nash has my whole heart
right after bath time- which he always enjoys
-the kids area on the quilts-
pop pop + nash
trying to get the three-year-old to smile
my wonderful mother-in-law
he was dancing to tom petty’s, ‘you wreck me’
main table scape
little wooden bird napkin holders
he was loving life with his friends and cousins and the trampoline (and all the snacks!!)
picnic under the trees + by the chickens and garden
evan was so cute with baby nash
an instax polaroid camera is always one of my favorite things for capturing tiny moments at a gathering
i genuinely feel like he knew we were celebrating him
the rooster is the brown fluffy one closest to the fence – so beautiful.
one year with two! it’s def. so much harder but seeing them together makes everything worth it.
william + cora
i love these two like my own
‘there is nothing worth sharing – like the love that let us share our name” – the avett brothers
a photo for his baby book
-our family-
taking in these days together
…
nash charles,
always remember
‘i carry your heart with me-
i carry it in my heart.’
