gift ideas | stockings for babies + toddlers

lately, the air in our home smells of fresh pine and the earth seems to wear magic so effortlessly. i have been decorating our house slowly this year and have been listening to the carpenter’s, frank sinatra, and kenny and dolly ‘a christmas to remember’ on repeat for days. a huge part of me is already mourning the coming of january. although that is always exciting; a clean, new and fresh beginning.
i am savoring every moment of this month; embracing the season.

our family celebrates st. nicholas later this week (which is when we do our stockings) so i thought i would share some ideas for a baby / toddler with you all.
it’s brought a lot of joy to me, planning some simple surprises and traditions for my boys
they are my sweet december.

a few gift ideas |
01. jellycat elf (green/red- this is parks’ elf, eden, from the north pole) or this one (cream and gold- nash’s elf starting next year and currently nameless!) they will always sit on a shelf in each one of their rooms : watching them + keeping them safe / are ‘magical’ and fly back to the north pole every night while they sleep to report to santa. (these are a perfect gift if you celebrate st. nick/they can visit/stay until christmas…)
03. wooden camera
04. name puzzle
08. anyone else have a kid who loves a good/fun band-aid? if so, a box of those would be perfect
10. around the house sound | melissa and doug puzzle

growing up, we would write a letter to santa and st. nick would pick it up (our list)
we also put our shoes out and usually received a few small gifts/candy/oranges/peppermints
…
my grandma cross-stitched our stockings the year we were each born, which made them oh-so-special
now, each person in our family has a cream knitted stocking and i plan to add a few ornaments to everyone’s hook each year to represent that person

what do you love to include in stockings?
…
also, when does your family fill stockings?
