happy first day of kindergarten for parks james + traditions

happy first day of kindergarten, 
my beautiful boy; 
with the old soul and sweet heart 
you are so very loved. 

some first day of school traditions + ideas | 

01. bake bread together the day before to pack for lunch/snack (we made banana bread) 
02. read ‘the kissing hand‘ together before bed (we exchanged in the car this morning and i am pretty sure i will always remember it.)
03. play their favorite band/songs during breakfast to lighten the moon/nerves (florida georgia line for parks) 
04. go to ice cream after school on the first and last days of school 
05. write a note in their lunchbox
06. let them pick dinner and chat about the day 
07. decorate your child’s bedroom door 
08. have an apple themed breakfast 
09. make these pencil waffles 
10. decorate the sidewalk in front of your house/driveway
11. bring fresh flowers to the teachers 

toy story has always been dear to his heart so we had his friends ready to say ‘goodbye’

sums them both up so well. 

i cried the whole way home
because i am just so proud of him
so proud
and so grateful for all of the time i have been able to spend with him
