isle of palms beach trip {a guide}

we enjoyed a beach trip to the isle of palms – right outside of charleston, south carolina last month with my family. it was so relaxing, yet super fun! we didn’t really have an agenda but just took each day one hour at a time. it was so nice to let go of everything for a week. i received a lot of messages regarding recommendations for where to stay, what to eat, and what to do there… so thought i would share a guide with you all today. we have always stayed at a beach house on ocean blvd {if you want the actual address, feel free to email me!} but there are also a lot of hotels and resorts available. below are some suggestions for where to eat, what to do for fun, and where to have a good time. i hope it helps and i hope you enjoy if you ever visit.
baby boy all packed up for a week at the beach
view from our widow’s walk – where we enjoyed ‘happy hour’ cocktails and chats

i love them
thank you, mom and dad, for one unforgettable vacation
this is right before they went out on their date!

the walk to the beach
packing up |
perfume: anthropologie
sandals: target
pouch and shorts: madewell
morning exercises
things to do |
jet skiing {so fun!} or parasailing – tidalwave watersports
paddle boarding – be ocean fit
enjoy an ice cream cone at ben & jerry’s
our backyard for the week – it’s gorgeous. {with a fabulous outdoor bar/kitchen!}
and then we added one more to our ‘wolfpack’
the obstinate daughter – sullivan’s island
we went there on friday, june 24, for my birthday eve
it was absolutely unbelievable – great conversations and we were in a ‘foodie and cocktail’ heaven
morning walks on the beach with mimi and pops
he loved napping on the beach
father’s day
my sister’s birthday was june 21/the tuesday we were there
so we celebrated all day!
{i love this photo of her and parks!}
the morning of her birthday, my parents and i woke up and went to the grocery store, where we bought a ‘happy birthday’ balloon and six different colored balloons. we each wrote a message, full of wishes we have for her for this year, on a balloon. the sixth balloon was from parks and their beloved pup, annabel. we tied the balloons to a bottle of kombucha!

parks’ message: ‘i want a baby cousin’

we enjoyed playing this game on the beach
keep it rolling – tidalball {and only $19.99}
{you don’t have to haul corn hole boards to the beach and really fun to play!}
bffs
seafood boil
places to have a good time |
the windjammer {our traditional bar to ‘rock out’ at together!}
the dinghy {we tried this one this year as well and loved it! my sister and i got to play ‘paperboy’ on nintendo- a favorite! and bassey and alex played some mario 3. plus, they had live music and we totally embarrassed my sister with a birthday song- front and center- as people came up and danced with her! we will be back.}
i love my big brother, bassey
he’s the best husband to my sister and uncle to parks!
on the last day, while we were enjoying the pool, bassey looked at me and said,
“nelly- you’re a really good mom.”
as a new mom, just trying to take everything one day at time/learning things every single day – that encouragement melted my heart- just so sweet.
paddle boarding on the sound
baby + babiators + a frog float for a good time
{more about beachin’ with a babe coming soon!}
baby’s first trip to the beach – even more photos than normal!
poolside
waking up from his nap
cocktails started early each day – starting with a bloody mary {after our smoothies}
i am so proud of this guy! my brother is going to do great things.
i hope you enjoyed seeing our trip and hope these recommendations help you if you ever plan to visit
i promise, you won’t be disappointed!
have you ever been?
