love day memories
memories i always want to remember |
+ my boys finishing their cards for classmates- signing each with “NASH” in uppercase letters
+ love when you’re all grown up is something profound- it’s beginnings and endings. it’s singing to my darling girl before bed and pouring water over their heads during a warm bath, and a pile of laundry waiting to be folded. love is a warm cup of coffee steaming as the sun rises. it’s noticing.
+ seeing and hearing and feeling the love of this life together
+ vintage cards and love notes
+ a new vinyl for my dear husband (zach bryan)
+ pale pink heart balloons
+ a strawberry matcha and fresh flowers from one of my favorite spots, sorella
+ sushi and thai food over candlelight and red wine and craft beers
+ breakfast in bed for my two boys before school – on a tray with a new book
+ the joy of going through the school valentines’ bags
“Late Spring” from Felicity part II called Love
Finally the world is beginning
to change, its fevers mounting,
its leaves unfolding.
And the mockingbirds find
ample reason and breath to fashion
new songs. They do. You can
count on it.
As for lovers, they are discovering
new ways to love. Listen, their windows are open.
You can hear them laughing.
Without spring who knows what would happen.
A lot of nothing, I suppose.
The leaves are all in motion now
the way a young boy rows and rows
in his wooden boat, just to get anywhere.
Late, late, but now lovely and lovelier.
And the two of us, together – a part of it.
