on our bookshelf | boxitects + hungry bunny

what children’s book have you been loving lately?

i am hoping to share more titles and ones we love with you all … and maybe some reviews from parks- now that he is five and is able to express his opinions better. we have some amazing local bookstores that i would love to visit and share as well + so happy the libraries here are back open pretty normally. we sure have missed them.

last week parks told me that he wanted to get a book about building things with boxes from the school library (something he has enjoyed since the pandemic began) and I said, ‘yea, bud!! that would be awesome!!” … when he got in the car friday afternoon with a book called, boxitects – i died. i couldn’t believe it! he spent the whole weekend planning and creating with his tools and construction worker costume. if you have a child in your life that also enjoys doing this, i highly recommend this book; especially during a rainy weekend at home. above is the coffee shop he built with his dad on sunday morning.

i also wanted to share nash’s favorite book at the moment (because it’s adorable!!) – the book is called, hungry bunny. there is an interactive scarf (a red ribbon) – it is very creative and beautiful and we all love it.

from amazon | “In this charming sequel to Bunny Slopes, Bunny needs help picking apples for mama’s apple pie. Young readers will delight in using the included red ribbon to help Bunny reach new heights and pick those tasty apples. Children will have fun as they rock the book back and forth and turn it around and around for a unique roller-coaster adventure on Bunny’s way home. Filled with puns and Claudia’s Rueda’s warm sense of humor, this book has jokes for readers young and old and will have the whole family giggling. Adorable illustrations, interactive narration, an unexpected plot, and a cozy and reassuring ending make this a favorite of adults as well as kids.”

please let me know if you read and enjoy these two picks!
