somewhere over the rainbow | a first birthday party {part two}

parts of this post were sponsored. thank you so much for supporting ‘olive june’
yesterday, i shared photos from my niece’s first birthday party in cincinnati- a celebration with close friends. here are highlights from the celebration we threw in my hometown over labor day. my parents live in the country and just put in a new outdoor area (and it’s lovely: a pool, hot tub, pool house, fireplace, etc.) it was the perfect space to gather with loved ones, kick off college football, say goodbye to sweet summertime and most of all, celebrate this darling girl.

we wanted to keep this party simple as well so we did one table full of rainbow treats + decor
rachel’s cakes / anna, ohio made the gorgeous cake, rainbow cupcakes and smash cake
and like always, they were beyond perfect. i sent her this idea for the cupcakes just a few days before and she made it happen. rachel- you are the best. if you live in the area, i can’t recommend her enough and her shop in downtown anna is adorable.
how cute is that little dress?
we had the party catered / bbq and then made rainbow kabobs with fruit + some appetizers
we re-used most of the pieces from the previous party/the week before
i think she loved her parties
favors: crayons with this note . ‘thank you for making my special day more colorful! with love, leona”
rainbow hoop | happy home hoops co on etsy
i tied this hoop to the top of one of her gifts (a pink girl power shirt from girl tribe . charlotte
i thought it would make a cute reminder in her new big girl room of her first birthday party
cake topper/wood plaque | happily with love
(this isn’t a cake topper but i decided to use it as one and love, love the way it turned out!)
nash’s first time wearing trunks | floral euro style from kortni jean
it was simple- and i love the way it all came together.
leona loved playing with the starbursts and kept using her ‘more’ sign
their love for one another is so genuine- and always has been.
and this motorcycle was my brother’s back in the early 90’s + was the highlight of the trip for parks
our closest family/neighbors growing up came and celebrated with us – all day (and night)
so glad they were able to meet baby nash
aunt nellie loves you so much
