when God made you | a book review
YOU, you… God thinks about you.
God was thinking of you long before your debut.
…
when God made you by matthew paul turner is the ideal book for any young child… it encompasses everything i love in a children’s book. the love of God, embracing your true self + unique traits, vibrant colors, and the importance of dreaming.
from early on, children are looking to discover their place in the world and longing to understand how their personalities, traits, and talents fit in. the assurance that they are deeply loved and a unique creation in our big universe is certain to help them spread their wings and fly.
through playful, charming rhyme and vivid, fantastical illustrations, When God Made You inspires young readers to learn about their own special gifts and how they fit into God’s divine plan as they grow, explore, and begin to create for themselves.

‘Cause when God made YOU, somehow God knew
That the world needed someone exactly like you!
parks loves this book… it’s so beautiful (the illustrations-by david catrow- are gorgeous!)
-reading with james the goose-
“a builder of bridges, you, the peacemaker.”
it’s all about creating, shining bright, believing in yourself and remembering that God made us each in a very special way
i highly recommend this book
especially for a baby shower + new baby
the message is so beautiful

in other news, parks took off last week (on st. patrick’s day) and he is so proud.
we officially have a walker
and it’s pretty much the same… he was such a quick crawler and pulled up on everything so i haven’t really noticed a change. it’s actually nicer because i can put him down at the post office/store for a second if i have to… how cute are -really- little people walking?
i love this boy so much… more every single day.
to celebrate, we did a lot of parks (he walked into the sandbox with the big kids!), enjoyed walks, and took in some fresh juices this week
(getting our greens in.)
…
today we leave for alabama and then ohio on sunday
excited for our ‘lula spring break’ together and can’t wait to see family and friends
(and my beautiful cousin- one of my most loyal blog readers- get married)
i love you, kelly
(and you picked one of the best!!)
we wouldn’t miss this for the world.

He is just the cutest! I got that book from Blogging for Books for my daughter too and it really is such a sweet book with a great message. We really like to look at all the colorful drawings.
